Karen Kenyon

Karen Kenyon coached fencing at Maine South High School 1966-70, and Maine West 1970-94. Karen was Maine West's first softball coach. She also coached archery and tennis. She was the first Girls' Sports Coordinator at Maine West. Karen garnered a career fencing record of 249 wins to only 75 losses. Her teams captured the Midwest High School Fencing Championships a resounding six times from 1982-87 and 1989. She was inducted in the Illinois Girls Coaches' Association Hall of Fame in 1992, was named Illinois Coaches' Association Fencing Coach of the Year in 1992, National Coaches' Association Midwest Region Fencing Coach of the year - 1992, was awarded the Illinois Coaches' Association Meritorious Service Award in 1995, served as President of the Illinois Girls Coaches' Association 1988-91, and was President of the Midwest Fencing Coaching Association 1989-94. We welcome Karen into the Maine West Coaches' Hall of Fame.
