Les Jannusch

Les Jannusch was a Math teacher and Coach for 34 years at Maine West High School. Les coached girls' basketball from 1976-1979, boys' basketball in 1981 & 1982 winning a conference title in 1982. Les wa also a part of two conference championships in track and field; he coached the throwers form 1998-2002. Les's true love has always been football. Coach Jannusch coached football from 1969-2002, winning a conference championship and involved in four trips to the state playoffs.

Les was not only an exceptional coach but also an accomplished athlete. Les was a member of the 1963 State Champion baseball team. He was also an all conference football player the same year. Coach Jannusch is the first Maine West Alumnus that has been inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame. He has had the privilage of being coached by five Hall of Famers: Coach Olson, Coach Carstens, Coach Zuccarini, Coach Carlini, and Coach Freeman.

It is with great honor that we induct Les Jannusch into the Maine West Coaches Hall of Fame.
