Ray Pettenuzzo
Football, Golf, Track
When Ray took over Warrior football in 1991, he inherited a program that had not seen a winning season in a decade. Ray got to work and it did not take him long to begin stringing winning seasons together. In just his second season, he led the Warriors to a 5-4 record, and in his third season, he led the Warriors to the playoffs for the second time in school history; ending a 14-year drought.
By the time Ray traded in his football coaching shorts for golf coaching shirts, he led the Warriors to 7 consecutive winning seasons, the second longest stretch in school history, in addition to 3 state play-off appearances, which ties for most in school history, 69 wins, the most in school history, coached 4 All-State football players, 8 winning seasons, and in 2007 Ray was inducted into the CSL Coaches Hall of Fame.
Ray’s success was not limited to the football field. Ray had tremendous success as the sprint coach for Boys Track and Field. Ray coached Track and Field for 24 seasons; helping the track team to win 4 conference championships. His four by one hundred relay time reached the state finals in 2012, 2 all-state runners in 2013, and 2 state qualifiers for the girls Track and Field team in 2018.
Through a career that spanned three decades, three sports, 52 seasons and four conference championships, Raymond Pettenuzzo is hereby eligible for induction into the Warrior Hall of Fame.
