Pam Anderson died Jan 9, 2024. Her older sister, Joyce (MW 1960), had died in Sept 2023. Pam is survived by her brother, Russ (MW 1965) and his wife, Lisa (MW 1968) and their children and grandkids. Pam never married or had children. During her MW years she worked at the Fannie May Shop at Ellinwood and Center Streets. A few years after graduation she found her favorite job, as an editor for “Locksmith Ledger”, a trade journal for locksmiths. Unfortunately, after she retired, Pam became a recluse, rarely leaving the family home (936 Oakwood) she had inherited. During the past 10 or so years she developed many health problems. On Dec 10 a fall at home resulted in a broken hip and hip replacement surgery was performed at LGH. A few days later a break in the pelvic bone was discovered, necessitating transfer to UIC Hospital in Chicago for more surgery. After that surgery she gave up on life and refused food and meds. Unfortunately the care at the hospitals was not what we would have wanted for her. After an uphill battle with the hospital, we were able to have her transferred to Journey Care Hospice in Barrington Jan 7. They took very good care of her and she was comfortable for her final days, though not really conscious.
